GTmetrix Test Server Location Updates (Vancouver/Mumbai -> Seattle/Pune)

Updates on our latest changes for GTmetrix test servers, including the deprecation of our Vancouver location and migration of Mumbai to Pune.

Preparing to Migrate Off Vancouver Test Servers

As mentioned previously, we are currently in preparations to migrate off our previous Vancouver servers and onto the closest available Azure-provided node – Quincy, WA, USA (labelled Seattle, USA for recognizability).

Currently, Seattle, USA is now available alongside Vancouver, Canada – you can test and monitor in this new location and prepare for our upcoming deprecation of Vancouver.

Latency-wise, the difference between Vancouver and Seattle is negligible (less than 10ms) and Quincy and Seattle even more so (less than 5ms), so there should be no difference between the two locations in terms of practicality.

Vancouver, Seattle and Quincy are located very close geographically and represent negligible differences in latency.

From a performance standpoint, we have seen at a minimum, comparable if not better results from our new Seattle, USA server.

Rest assured we will continue to monitor usage data to ensure a smooth transition.

Vancouver Deprecation Date – October 15, 2025

We plan to shutter our Vancouver test server location on October 15, 2025. We understand this is a significant change that impacts many of our users.

Here’s what you can expect on that date:

  • By default, GTmetrix tests will be launched from Seattle, USA
  • All monitored/API jobs with location set in Vancouver, Canada will be switched to Seattle, USA
  • All presets/defaults with location set in Vancouver, Canada will be switched to Seattle, USA
  • No interruption of monitoring or API service is expected

If you have firewall rules, allowlists, or integrations that rely on GTmetrix test server IPs, make sure you add our new Seattle IPs before October 15, 2025 to avoid disruptions:

Test Location New IP Address
Seattle, USA 4.154.170.206
4.155.232.126
4.155.4.251
4.155.83.118

Mumbai, India is Now Pune, India

Another part of this migration is our Mumbai, India servers moving to Pune, India.

This change became necessary when we discovered during the migration process that the available server instances in Mumbai did not match the performance levels of our newly commissioned servers in other locations.

To ensure consistency and stable performance across all GTmetrix test locations, we opted to move the Mumbai location to Pune where stronger, more reliable infrastructure is available from Azure.

Pune and Mumbai are in close proximity and therefore would have no noticeable differences in latency.

From a user perspective, this change should be seamless, with no noticeable difference in latency or performance between Mumbai and Pune.

Our Pune, India location is available now:

  • All monitored/API jobs with location set in Mumbai, India have been switched to Pune, India
  • All presets/defaults with location set in Mumbai, India have been switched to Pune, India
  • No interruption of monitoring or API service has been observed

If you have firewall rules, allowlists, or integrations that rely on GTmetrix test server IPs, make sure you add our new Pune IPs to avoid disruptions:

Test Location New IP Address
Pune, India 74.225.139.157
74.225.217.56
