- What is a Monitoring Slot?
-
Each URL paired with Analysis Options (location, device, connection
speed, etc.) having monitoring enabled (hourly, daily, etc) would
consume one monitoring slot.
For example, monitoring the following:
- https://example.com (Vancouver, Canada, Chrome, Unthrottled)
- https://example.com (San Antonio, TX, USA, Simulated iPhone 6/6S/7/8, LTE)
- https://example.com (London, UK, Chrome @ 1366x768, Broadband Fast)
- https://anotherdomain.com (San Antonio, USA, Chrome @ 1366x768, Broadband Fast)
Would require 4 monitoring slots.
Take an inventory of the number of URLs and scenarios you intend to
monitor, and select a PRO plan that suits your needs.

- How many Monitored Slots do I need?
-
The number of Monitored Slots needed will depend on your visitors and
overall performance goals.
Small websites may only need to monitor a few pages, whereas larger
websites may have more key pages that users visit frequently, are
primary entry points, or part of a campaign.
Read our article
on determining how many monitored slots you may need.
- At what frequency should I monitor my pages?
-
How often GTmetrix tests when monitoring your pages depends on how
critical the performance of your website is to you and/or your
visitors.
Whether performance is mission critical, or if you only need to keep
an eye on performance from time to time, there's a frequency that
makes sense for you.
Read our article
on how to determine a monitoring frequency.
- What is an On-Demand Test?
-
A test run from within your GTmetrix Dashboard, or re-tests done from
a GTmetrix Report are considered On-Demand tests.
After you reach your On-Demand test limit, subsequent tests will be
rate limited.
Each PRO plan has a number of On-Demand tests allocated to it, be
sure to select a plan that would match the number of On-Demand tests
you expect to be doing.
Reports generated from monitoring or the API are not considered
On-Demand tests and will not deduct from your amount.
- Wow - The Basic/Free GTmetrix plan has a lot of features! Why?
-
When we first launched GTmetrix, we set out to build a product that
we ourselves would be proud to share. Putting everything behind a
paywall would be pretty counter-intuitive to our original goal, so we
made sure to always have our Basic/Free plan feature-rich so that web
performance can be accessible to all.
If you have a personal blog or a website for your small business, a
Basic GTmetrix plan should give you the insights you need to keep
your website performing well.
Of course, if you need more GTmetrix features, like Monitored Slots,
Premium Locations, and/or Mobile testing, upgrade to PRO for the full
GTmetrix experience!
- Will I be charged every month/year if I subscribe to GTmetrix PRO?
-
Yes - GTmetrix PRO is a subscription service. You'll
be charged the cost of your plan at the end of your billing term (every
month or year depending on what you've selected).
If you do not wish to continue your subscription, you can cancel your
subscription and we won't charge you on the next billing cycle.
- Do you have a trial?
-
You can actually get a feel for the majority of GTmetrix's
functionality with our Basic (Free) account.
We've built GTmetrix so that users have access to almost all our
features in the spirit of making web performance optimization
accessible to all - for that reason we don't have a traditional "free
trial" period.
If you would still like a PRO trial, reach out to us
to chat about your needs and we'll see what we can do for you.
- What payment options does GTmetrix accept?
-
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and PayPal.
We can also accept Bank/Wire Transfers, Cheques and Purchase
Orders, but as we manually process these payments, we require a
minimum of a yearly Champion plan.
- Can I switch my plan from monthly to yearly? (or vice versa)
-
Yes, you can switch from a monthly to a yearly billing cycle at any
time. However, if you're switching from a yearly to a monthly
billing cycle, then the change will happen after your existing yearly
billing cycle has completed.
- What if I want to upgrade or downgrade my plan in the middle of my term?
-
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. However, if
you're downgrading your PRO plan, you will remain on your existing
plan until the end of your billing cycle. Any upgrades will happen
immediately and the plan costs will be pro-rated accordingly.
- What if I want to cancel my plan?
-
You can cancel at any time and your plan will expire at the end of
your billing cycle. Until your plan expires, you will have full
access to all your PRO features.
- Do you offer refunds?
-
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Reach out to us and tell us about your
experience, and if, for whatever reason, you're still not satisfied,
we'll provide you a refund.
Requests for refunds after 14-days will be reviewed on a case-by-case
basis and may only be eligible for account credit.
